Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked why the Black Lives Matter movement has not yet been classified as a hate group and has come under fire on social media. The comments by the Fox News host went viral as a manhunt was launched for the shooter of an Illinois police officer. Hasselback was referencing the rash of police shootings that may be linked to the movement.
The Illinois police officer was shot in Fox Lake near a cement plant just outside of Chicago, according to the New York Daily News. The police are reportedly searching for three men, two white males and one black male, in relation to the police officer shooting near Chicago. A press conference held following the shooting confirmed a Fox Lake police officer had been shot but did not offer any details about the nature of his wounds or his current condition.
The Fox Lake police officer may have had his gun stolen by his attackers. Fox Lake is located in northern Illinois.

Elizabeth Hasselback made the Black Lives Matter hate group comments during an interview with political analyst Kevin Jackson on the Fox and Friends Monday morning show. Hasselback referenced the “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon” chants from Black Lives Matter protesters during a Minnesota State Fair demionstration, the Daily Mail reports.

The Fox News host asked, “Kevin, why has the Black Lives Matter movement not been classified as a hate group? How much more has to go in this direction before someone actually labels it as such?”
Jackson replied, “Well they should do it, but unfortunately it’s being financed by the leftists. Ironically it’s people that have nothing, really no concern at all about black lives.”
He went on to deem the Black Lives Matter movement a “stain on the nation.”
Hasselback and Jackson then went on to discuss the police shooting of Texas Deputy Darren Goforth. The deputy was shot in the back while pumping gas. Shannon J. Miles, a black man, was arrested and charged with the murder of a police officer.

St. Paul Police Federation Head David Titus called the Black Lives Matter “pigs in a blanket” chant “disgusting.”
“Quite simply — that promotes death to cops,’ Titus said during an interview with the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “Here we got these cops protecting this march and then all of a sudden they make the message about violence against police officers. I don’t find it peaceful talking about offing cops.”
