On January 21, Samantha Henderson, 25, was reported missing by her fiancé just before he sent several text messages and voicemails pleading with her to come home and asking “where are you?”
Just nine days after Henderson of Corfe Castle, Dorset vanished without a trace, a detection dog led investigators to a lake at the Ham Common in Poole where divers discovered her lifeless body, according to BBC News.

Police discovered she had been dressed in a pink gown, carefully wrapped in plastic, and weighed down by metal to ensure she would never float to the surface.
An autopsy report indicated that the mother of four was not only left at the body of the lake, but she sustained “multiple blunt force head and neck injuries, consistent with repeated left-handed punches.”
After her fiancé Dominic Isom, 28, had given a “plainly dishonest account” on how she had died, he became the prime suspect in her murder. However, he denied murdering Henderson during his first appearance at Winchester Crown Court.
Although he left her a voicemail saying, “Please come back. You can’t stay away any longer, please come back” and “The girls are crying… please I need you back here Sam, please. Please pick up these messages, we need you to come home where you belong” to fool police into believing he was just a worried and concerned fiancé, not a killer, he later confessed that his fiancé died as a result of injuries he caused.

However, he claims it was self-defense and he is not a murderer.
In court, Judge Dingemans said to Islom that “Samantha Henderson was a much loved mother, daughter, and sister.”
“Mr. Isom gave a plainly dishonest account. We don’t know why Mr. Isom attacked Ms. Henderson, but there was evidence from the children they were arguing.”
Investigators believe that Islom and his fiancé were arguing in the shed of their home where the murder allegedly took place as forensics uncovered traces of Henderson’s blood.
Islom told the court that he and his fiancé got into an argument in their home that escalated and resulted in a scuffle. Midmost of their brawl, he stated that he picked her up over his shoulders and she accidentally fell head first, which caused the head injuries.
He then strangled her to death as she laid unconscious on the floor, and afterwards he dumped his fiancé’s body in the lake.
“He didn’t intend to kill Ms. Henderson, but he certainly intended to cause her harm,” the judge continued. “He has 20 previous convictions and he had been convicted twice before of gross bodily harm, on the last occasion he was jailed for three years.”
“Aggravating factors in this case are his previous attacks on Miss Henderson, the concealment of her body, and the serial lies he told which prolonged the agony of the children and family.”
Despite Islom’s plead of self-defense, the judge sentenced him to a minimum life term of 17 years in prison for the murder of Samantha Henderson.
